Marvel Minimates Wave 3 - Logan and Storm

Here we have a pack containing another version of Wolverine, this time in his alter-ego of Logan and his X-Men team-mate, Storm.

Packaging

The packaging features the Ultimate X-Men logo along the side of the card. The figures are packed in a bubble tray, and have twist-ties holding them in, as well as clear elastic bands holding their arms to their sides.

The figures look good in the package, the colours are very dynamic, and the blue and brown contrast nicely with the background.

The Figures

Logan

The first review is Logan AKA Wolverine. He has a much happier facial expression than the other Wolverine Minimate. His hair piece is also different, with long sideburns. It looks great but is very loose.

Unlike the other Wolverine, Logan is dressed in more normal garb. His outfit is a lot more detailed than his X-Men uniform, especially on the upper body which is a jacket over a T-Shirt. The paint is excellent and the detailing works very well.

Even as Logan, he keeps his most prominent accessory, his claws. The hands of the figure are sculpted with three blades protruding from each fist, although they are a bit crooked and not straight.

Overall, this figure has excellent paint detailing and play value, and is well worth picking up even if you have the other Wolverine. However I slightly prefer him in his X-Men costume as he goes better with the others.

Storm

The second figure in the set is Storm, the mutant who can control the elements. Storm has a nicely detailed face, much like the other Minimate women. Her hair is white and really cascades down her back, which restricts her head movement greatly but still looks incredible. The other downside is that it's a solid, heavy piece, which can unbalance the figure.

Storm is dressed in her X-Men costume, which looks very similar to the outfit worn by Jean Grey. The upper body piece, the arms and hands, and the necklace are all identical to Jean's, except for Storm's skin being darker.

The lower half of the body has little detail except for the boots, which are oversized and do not feature ankle articulation, much like the Green Goblin's boots.

Overall, Storm is a good figure. She loses some of her articulation due to fairly unique design choices, but she's the better for it. The hair, in particular, is fantastic, and I hope more female Minimates get to use it.
